DeeDee Trotter: Taking the World Over by her Performances

De'Hashia Tonnek Trotter, known also as DeeDee Trotter is a renowned athlete from the United States. She was born in 1982. She is not only a national champion of NCAA but also the winner of three Olympic Medals, two gold, and one bronze.  She specializes in both 400 Meters and 200 Meters in tack. She started her sports career as a basketball player. However, those who witnessed her running capabilities across the court encouraged her to take up running instead.

Trotter’s basketball dreams came to an abrupt end when she received a scholarship on the basis of her performance in track-and-field in the Tennessee University. It is a known fact that she was the first track-and-field athlete to be qualified as a professional even before her graduation from the Tennessee University. She competed in the IAAF World Athletics Championship, 2003 in France. She won Gold for 4 X 400 Meters relay at two the World championships, 2003 Paris, and 2007 Osaka.  She also bagged the gold medals for 2004 and 2012 Olympics for 4 X 400 meters relay. To add up, she also received bronze in 2012 Olympics in 400 meters race.

She suffered a serious injury when a bone chip broke inside her left leg 2008. Because of this accident, her career got a huge setback. She returned on 2009 but was marred due to her injuries. She finally recovered and proved herself back again in 2012 Olympics. Trotter is the founder of ‘Test Me I'm Clean’. It is a non-profit organization, which advocates towards drug-free athletes.
