Borland Leaves 49ers Because of Head Trauma

Chris Borland had signed a four-year contract that valued at $3 million dollars, and had an equally outstanding sum of money in his signing bonus, that amounted to $617,436 dollars. Needless to say Borland was an asset to the 49ers. However, some grave news was about to break loose.



Borland was retiring from the team because of repeated head injuries. The issue, he quoted, “gathered steam,” while the season went on. He wrote a letter to his parents entailing that his career would most likely be brief because of sustained head injuries.



He scheduled tests to monitor his neurological well-being and after the studies he said the choice, was in fact, “simple.” He also is quoted saying, “"It's an incredible organization, and they truly looked out for players' best interests.” He goes on to add that the 49ers had nothing to do with him quitting.



Healready received a bachelor’s degree at the University Of Wisconsin. He hopes to return there and go into sports management. Who knows, one day this kid may become the next biggest coach for the NFL. Players from the league used twitter to assert their opinions about Borland leaving.



Boreland is not alone from other people under 30 who areannouncing their retirement in the NFL. Actually, he is one of the four this week.



Jason Worilds, age 27, decided to go, “After Much thought and consideration.” Tennessee Titians quarterback Jake Loker retired after saying, “The burning desire necessary to play the game,” had dissipated. Willis said he retired because of constant pain in his feet among other areas.



This game is not for easy-goingpeople apparently. The fact that Boreland left because of head injuries must make people wonder about other players who do not leave the NFL who should because of head trauma. Furthermore, what exactly is happening to players’ bodies who stay in the league long-term? All we know is that Borland was competent enough to see that he needed to get out before he got hurt.
